Sue served as a counselor and teacher at Faasao Marist High School. Eventually she served as principal of the school until a Samoan replacement could be found.
After returning to the US, the Ozars felt the call to return to mission and served their second term of service in the Diocese of Meru, Kenya. Bud served as the development director of the diocese. Sue taught at two schools for street children.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS:
“Outside of my family, our work in Samoa and Kenya was the most significant thing I have done with my life. I questioned how my managerial skills could possibly be of use in the missions. I soon realized how invaluable our skills and presence were. Serving in the missions I learned we receive more than we give.”—BUD OZAR
“Teaching in American Samoa and Kenya was filled with great surprisea: hugs from high schoolers in restaurants and applause from 7th graders when class begins. These are open, eager learners, an educator’s dream”—SUE OZAR
